Hi readers!
As I write this, it’s 8:30 p.m. and I am sitting on the grass on the main quadrangle. I’m alone and listening to music out of my portable speaker, taking in one of the last warm nights we might have for the rest of the year. It is a joy and a privilege to be on this campus right now and I am so grateful for all the work that has gone into making sure we can stay here. Keep wearing your masks. Keep being honest on your symptom trackers. Keep social distancing. Keep up the good work, Jaspers. You’re all the reason this experience and print paper are possible.
This week’s paper is small, but packed with great work that I am so eager for you all to see. Kiersten Thompson’s front page photograph is absolutely fantastic and is definitely one of the best photos we have printed thus far this semester. Caroline and Colleen give you all the details about the peace pole that was newly installed on campus in Features. Arts & Entertainment highlights the LWGRC’s GrARTitude and the sports section highlights athletes named to the 2019-2020 MAAC All-Academic team.
We have one new contributor who has his first byline this week in sports. It’s always so exciting when new writers join our ranks, whether it’s for multiple stories or just one. If you’re reading this and have thought about contributing to The Quadrangle, but aren’t sure how to start, just shoot us an email at thequad@manhattan.edu and we’ll get you on board.
Sincerely,
Gabriella DePinho
