Campus finally feels like fall, and as the first official week of the season begins, students across Manhattan University (MU) are saying goodbye to their summer wardrobes and taking out their fall clothes. The Quadrangle spoke to Dylann Grant, Matteo Santonocito, Cassia Lutete, Liseth Mata and Victor Vocal about their fall inspired outfits and what they like wearing during this time of year. 

Dylann Grant ‘30, marketing major 

The Quadrangle: What inspired your outfit today? 

Dylann Grant: Well, I knew it was going to get a little bit cold, so I wanted to get my fall clothes out early… I’m trying to get into the fall spirit.  

TQ: What are you wearing today? 

DG: These pants are Vintage Refuge, my shirt and my top shirt are both vintage Hollister… My shoes are from Primark.  

TQ: What brands do you lean towards in the fall? 

DG: I am big on Hollister and Abercrombie. My whole wardrobe for the fall is honestly Hollister and Abercrombie. I feel like they have really warm clothes and they really fit the fall spirit.  

TQ: Describe your late summer and early fall style in two words.  

DG: Warm and cozy.  

Matteo Santonocito ‘27, mechanical engineering major 

The Quadrangle: What inspired your outfit today? 

Matteo Santonocito: I think it is just the first day that it is starting to get cold outside, so I was really excited to throw on a sweater. It is one of my favorite sweaters. I wanted to keep it something basic and blue.  

TQ: What are you wearing today? 

MS: My pants are chino pants from Ralph Lauren. I’m wearing Onitsuka Tiger shoes I got in Japan. My sweater is from Aimé Leon Dore, it was a collaboration with Drakes. My shirt is from Hugo Boss, and my watch was my grandfather’s, it’s from Tissot.  

TQ: What brands do you lean towards in the fall? 

MS: Definitely I would go for Ralph Lauren. They have a lot of great layering pieces. You can look at any of their catalogs; the template is right there. You can even look at the [Ralph Lauren] bear and dress up the same. I like keeping things cozy, but also showing a little prep. 

TQ: Describe your late summer and early fall style in two words.  

MS: I would probably say “coffee date,” like dressing up like I’m going to a coffee date.  

Cassia Lutete ‘27, public health major 

The Quadrangle: What inspired your outfit today? 

Cassia Lutete: I am going for more of a 2000s vibe, and I think that’s how I usually dress. 

TQ: What are you wearing today? 

CL: This top is from Princess Polly, these [pants] I thrifted from MyUnique, I’m wearing flip flops from Amazon, this bag I got from Depop and a bralette I ordered from SHEIN. 

TQ: What brands do you lean towards in the fall? 

CL: I don’t know if I have any specific brands, but I tend to wear a lot of jeans now, I stop wearing skirts and shorts. I like wearing low-rise jeans, and maybe a long sleeve with a bralette showing. Oh, and UGGs and furry UGGs are super cute during the fall. 

TQ: Describe your late summer and early fall style in two words.  

CL: Dark grunge.

Liseth Mata ‘27, biochemistry major 

The Quadrangle: What inspired your outfit today? 

Liseth Mata: Honestly, fall. It’s my favorite season, and I did know that today was the end of summer, the first day of fall, and it was breezy outside. I have a long day, so I was like, I’m going to go comfy, warm colors, cute kind of vibe. 

TQ: What are you wearing today? 

LM: My outfit is from Amazon and Brandy [Melville], I have UGG slippers, and then this [bag] is my mom’s. It’s Vince Camuto. 

TQ: What brands do you lean towards in the fall? 

LM: For sure Brandy [Melville], even though it’s pretty basic. I always go for something comfortable. UGGs are really good too. Aside from that, I’ve been shopping a bit more at Subdued, they have very nice clothes, similar to Brandy [Melville] but more stylish clothing. 

TQ: Describe your late summer and early fall style in two words.  

LM: Warm and cozy. 

Victor Vocal ‘30, political science major 

The Quadrangle: What inspired your outfit today? 

Victor Vocal: I was already running kind of late, so I grabbed whatever was there, but I like flannels, they’re really nice for this weather. 

TQ: What are you wearing today? 

VV: I’m not too sure where my pants are from, but this is an Abercrombie flannel and Timberland shoes. 

TQ: What brands do you lean towards in the fall? 

VV: I’m not one for specific brands, as long as it’s not going to make me too hot or too cold. I like flannels, I like a lot of waffle kit shirts, sometimes I’ll still wear them in the hot weather because “fit over weather.” 

TQ: Describe your late summer and early fall style in two words.  

VV: Comfy and baggy.
