FLYNN MYERS / THE QUADRANGLE

The Quadrangle: What is your favorite part about being a member of The Quadrangle?

Flynn Myers: My favorite part about being a member of The Quadrangle is being able to give back to the community by keeping people more informed on current events. I think it allows for people to feel more interconnected when reading. I love to write and it honestly helps me develop more writing skills than ever before. I also love the people involved in the club; it’s definitely a great community of people who are very encouraging.

TQ: Help our readers get to know you: what’s one fun fact about yourself?

FM: I love to read. One of my first articles on The Quadrangle was a Book Nook, where I reviewed a book that I had read. The column really allowed me to bring together the two things that I enjoy doing which is writing and reading. I hope to write more Book Nooks in the future.

TQ: What is your favorite section to write for and why?

FM: My favorite section to write for thus far has been Arts and Entertainment, also known as A&E. I feel that writing for this section has allowed me to tap more into the creative side of campus and get to know many of the artistic clubs on campus.

TQ: What is the biggest thing you’ve learned so far working for this publication?

FM: One of the biggest lessons I have learned since joining The Quadrangle is that it takes a lot of work and dedication. I believe that it has taught me to become more efficient in my work when under a time crunch, and learn more about the way that I write.

TQ: What are you most looking forward to with the newspaper for the rest of the semester/year?

FM: I’m looking forward to getting more of a grasp on how to write more like a journalist. I am also looking forward to keeping the community informed about what is happening on campus. I’m just happy to keep writing for everyone and for myself.

TQ: What’s your favorite article you’ve written for The Quad?

FM: My favorite article so far that I wrote was Jasper Jams: Spring’s Around the Corner. The article itself allowed me to tap into a more creative side of journalistic writing. I was able to talk about some of my most favorite songs coming into the new season.
