Who? Jonathan Reyes, Asst. Sports Editor

Year: Junior

Major: Communication (Concentration: Journalism)

Minor: Film Studies

Q: Who would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island (& why)?

A: Kristen Stewart because we could reenact “Twilight.” Instead it would be called “Daylight,” a soap opera about pirates’s relationship problems, Johnny Depp would guest star as (Captain!) Jack Sparrow.

Q: Who is your favorite author/what is your favorite book?

A: Stephen King, enough said. And “Gone Girl” by Gillian Anderson. I know kind of contradictory, but that book is, in a word, absolutely brilliant. Well, that’s two word. Oh well.

Q: What is the one thing that should be taught in school that isn’t already?

A: Phonics. My high-school religion teacher said it was taken out of the curriculum for whatever reason. I think this is, at least, one reason why a lot of people nowadays don’t like to read and write and don’t socialize well. The Internet has something to do with this too, but that’s for another Q&A.

Q: What is the #1 most played song or artist on your iPod?

A: “Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay.

Q: What is your goal for the Quad/your section this semester/year?

A: In Sports, I’d like to 1) see more writers write for the section and 2) jump on the beat bandwagon. In my experience with the baseball and men’s soccer beats it’s such a great experience. Sounds cliché, but it’s a must for any section writer. As for me I want to make a name for myself. Again another cliché of sorts, but let’s be honest who doesn’t want to make a name for themselves?
