This past Thursday, May 1 English honor society Sigma Tau Delta hosted their first annual “Read Aloud” on the quad. President O’Donnell, Provost William Clyde, professors and students all read sections of Walt Whitman’s “Leave of Grass.” A small tent helped shelter readers from the rain in the morning, as the reading began at 9 a.m., but it got sunnier as the day went on. The event ended at 5 p.m.; it took eight total hours to read the entire work, and anyone was welcome to take a seat and listen or try their hand at reading a few pages.
